I’m entirely too lazy to update this thing which I call my blog; Not many things have happened, but there are a few things that I want to laugh at.

Note: I own stock in Sirius and have Sirius Satellite Radio service. This does not bias the following statements/opinions. No facts are guaranteed to be accurate past the date of their posting.

I’ve checked up on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio companies, because, well, that’s just something I like doing. Everytime a new year approaches, it seems that XM imitates Sirius even more. One I saw from a huge distance was the fact that XM was going to raise its prices. Why? Let’s explain…

XM had originally put commercials on their broadcasting. Who the hell was insane enough to allow that? Putting commercials on something you were paying $10 a month for? That’s crap, in my opinion. Not all stations had this– only certain ones, but still. There was between 1-3 minutes of commercials. So how could XM afford to keep prices lower when Sirius has consistently charged $12.95 per month for their service (for the main receiver in an account)? Well, truth be told, once they got rid of the commercials (an imitation of SIRIUS?…) their profit margin decreased dramatically. The difference was made with those 1-3 minutes osf commercials per hour, and with those cut, no longer were millions being made per each juicy, yet aggravating [for consumers], minute of broadcasting. XM was scrambling to gain customers back, even though they had a 2-year head start.

Fine, said sorry-ass XM execs… Err, non-biased… XM came up with the idea (*cough* bull *cough*) that it would be best for the consumer’s listening experience to eliminate the small amount of broadcasting that told you about how to regrow hair in places you didn’t want, or how to lose those extra pounds that you know you could never lose unless you went on an exercise program (which is FREE, by the way…). Yes, XM came up with this idea all on their own. Such large brains for a large company.

Then Premium Channels. For those lonely guys that just need a boner any hour of the day, you could’ve bought the “Playboy Radio” station for a nominal fee of around $3.00. Anyone willing to pay $3 a month, to hear, women, moan, on the radio, is just too pathetic to be subscribing to such beautiful digital-quality service, which is what XM and Sirius provide. A new premium service that XM recently had offered (recently is a relative term) was the Opie and Anthony Show.

:Record Scratch:

Hold it… Opie and Anthony? But wait! :Gasp: Who is SIRIUS getting in January 2006? Could it be, the man who has been fined more than any other individual in the FCC’s History– Howard Stern? I guess XM always imitates. But that’s not all!

Since the margin of loss was so great, XM will be raising its price to be dead-even with that of competitor SIRIUS’; Also gone will be the “Premium” rates of Premium channels–they’ll be tossed in as a “Bonus”; Horny poor men (and lesbians) rejoice everywhere.

All this imitation stuff that you’re talking is nonsense!, the fellow XM Follower may say. Fine, have more statistics to cram down your throat:
XM used to have two Satellites orbiting the Earth when SIRIUS has had three all along. Guess who has three satellites as well now? (Since about 2-3 weeks ago…)

XM used to charge people for their online radio service while SIRIUS’ service has been free to subscribers all along. Guess who, along with their newest rate hike to match SIRIUS’, will be providing free radio to their subscribers online as well.

This doesn’t mean I hate XM; this doesn’t mean I love SIRIUS. This simply means that one company got it right the first time, and seems to continue to be doing so. Winning 5 out of 7 Possible Awards for Satellite Radio, ranging from Programming, to Creativity, to Variety, SIRIUS scored high with the critics. Perhaps it’s because most reviewers were older who knew what good music was.

XM’s lineup is mostly crap, serving the youth a variety of hip-hop and R&B nonsense, along with many pop stations. One thing I did love about XM’s lineup was their Alternative selection… and, SIRIUS still needs to work on their Pop and Electronica lineups. They’ve done a great job categorizing the music, but… I think they need a Mix station and a “New Discovery” station for music from most genres (excluding R&B, PLEASE!) to mix; I’d appreciate that.

That’s enough for Satellite Radio for today.

I’ve been trying to find someone to go out with; Guy or girl, come satisfy me. I found a few hot people that I’m trying to hit up on, so we’ll see how that works out.

If the deal with one person doesn’t close, we could be in for a mess…

I need new headphones, since someone stole my old ones. Or I misplaced them. This would be the 8th pair I’ve had to purchase since the start of my pathetic, unproductive High School career. I want a hawt pair of DJ headphones from SONY. According to a few people, SONY makes great personal audio; can’t say the same for large-scale. [[ Check out prices for the here: MDR-V700 DJ, along with specs, here: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=MDR-V700DJ ]]

I got to be judge today; It was pretty weird at first. By the end, it felt like I had done it for quite a long amount of time and was satisfied with my rulings. It’s unfortunate that one team hadn’t objected at all… Hopefully they’ll work on that before Wednesday :hint-hint:…

I’ve become incredibly confused as to who wants me and who I want; Right now, I’d want to go out with around 6 people… This creates a lot of tension (and unknown desire, so, no tension with around 3 of these people) which keeps me entertained. That’s how I like it.

Another thing to keep me entertained would be a JOB! Come on; My mind is going to waste just sitting here talking to people on AIM all day. I’ve applied to about 9 different companies. I don’t even remember which ones, but here’s what I can remember: Circuit City, Best Buy, Walgreen’s, Sears (which I have an interview for next Monday, the 14th, 2005), CompUSA… That’s all I can remember for now.

We’ll see how that turns out. I’d prefer the SEARS job over other companies; That position would… always be fun. [No, I didn't say what position yet.]

We’ll see how much work I fell behind in while I was away at UIL hosting for the Region, staring at people I’d like to…

There is really only one person I’d like to mention now. Juan’s life isn’t exactly going perfect, and I care a lot about him, so if any of you do that praying stuff, could you pray for him? I love him =) That’s all for tonight. Aww, I have a heart. ,,!,,

Goodnight.

[Final Note: The scrollbar was too tiny, so I decreased it back a little; now showing only 6 posts per page instead of 10. Slower-speed users will be satisfied... Final Final Note: I love Juan :) ]
